Thy Kingdom Come Here is an initiative that encourages Christians to turn a journey into a prayer-journey.
It encourages people to walk their streets, to pray for God’s presence and love to be known there and to bless those living in that community, street or estate.
Individual journeys are logged on a digital map so individuals can see how their own prayer journeys are part of a collaborative effort to cover their area or city in prayer street-by-street. It provides individuals with a sense of praying with others for the city.
Each street as it is prayed in changes colour so users are able to see which areas near them have been, or are waiting for someone to pray there. As more people pray “Your kingdom come here” on their journeys, the city changes colour, but more importantly will be changed through those prayers.
After two successful pilots in North and East London in 2024 the TKC Here map will cover for the whole M25 region and be available for the whole of May and June. We want to see as much of London covered in prayer during these two months as possible.
If you make journeys in London please get involved and let those within your church know too. We would encourage you to partner with other local Christians to pray for your parish, estate or street together. Why not start collaboratively walk your community’s streets and pray that those who live in London know Jesus’ love?
You can find information about prayer walking in our resources page, but it is as simple as deciding to walk, pray and bless your community and then recording your walk on the prayer map. There will be planned walks occurring but it is as simple as taking an existing journey and turning it into a prayer journey where you pray and bless your community.
Individuals – Go to this site’s map page to see the London prayer map and sign up to add it to your phone and add your own prayer journeys.
Church leaders – Think about the area you can cover with prayer and we also encourage you to consider how you can organise your church to pray, walk and bless your community together.
Local Champions – If you feel inspired to see your borough or area of London covered in prayer and would like to promote local prayer walks taking place and spread the word to local churches please get in touch.
